Examining the capabilities and commitments driving contemporary conflict
What We Do
The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Modern Conflict is an interest group that occupies a strategic and effective position within Parliament. It is cross-party and cross-house group of parliamentarians made up of both peers and MPs with an interest in the capabilities and commitments driving contemporary warfare. Our work utilizes existing parliamentary processes and our diverse network to advance research, discussion, and policy-making regarding emerging technology, covert operations, and other issues which are outpacing conventional oversight mechanisms in the context of modern conflict.
Upcoming Events
The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Modern Conflict serves as a vital link between Parliamentarians and experts from non-governmental organisations, academics, and think tanks. We run a number of public events each year alongside our partners to share knowledge and advance key topical issues on the agendas of Parliamentary decision-makers.
Research and Resources
The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Modern Conflict is committed to supporting evidence-based policy and decision-making in UK Parliament and beyond. With this in mind, the Group undertakes policy research, both independently and collaboratively with partners, across each of it’s workstreams. Wherever possible, our research is made available to our network and the general public.
Actions and Impact
The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Modern Conflict utilises parliamentary processes, including early day motions, debates, inquiries, parliamentary questions, and committee requests to advance policy and decision-making within UK Parliament on issues within the Group’s mandate.
